About the Dressmaker
Linda studied at the Northern Ireland College of Art & Design, located on the
University of Ulster
campus at Jordanstown, she originally comes from the picturesque fishing village of Groomsport near Bangor in County Down, Northern Ireland.
The artwork and designs on Irish dance costumes are inspired by Celtic Art and Knotwork, examples of which can be found in early Christian gospels known as Illuminated Manuscripts,
the most famous of which is the
"Book of Kells"
.
The name "Lindasfarne Designs" originates from an adaptation of the
"Lindisfarne Gospels"
,another leading example of early Illuminated Manuscripts produced around 698 a.d. at the Monastery of Lindisfarne and incorporates Linda's name in the title.

Metallic Silks, Velours, Glitterdot, Holographic Lycra's etc. reflecting the latest trends, with designs in both modern and traditional elements.
Each costume is created with attention to detail and quality workmanship, fully lined bodice with dress shields and comes complete with crown and bloomers
